A Touch of Zen (1971)

This Thursday (June 7th) the series will begin its first screening under new management with the 1971 King Hu classic A Touch of Zen. The time and location are the same as in past weeks, 7:00PM in Garland 104 (2441 E. Hartford) The film is presented in Mandarin with English subtitles.
This blog includes information on the Asian Film Series at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. The Goal of this series is to expose students and those in the community to a range of Asian films many of which are little known in the US. All screenings are free and open to students and non-student alike. The series is hosted by the Center for International Education, but is not directly connected with the Center or the University and does not necessarily represent the views of either.

Hi. Are you still doing these? It would be really neat of you could play City of Sadness (1989, Hou Hsiao-Hsien).
Sorry for not getting back to you right away, I was out of town. The series is still going on every other week during the summer. The next screening is The Quiet Family on the 19th. I'll look into City of Sadness as an option, but choice of films is now up to Elizabeth who runs the series.
